During May, Californians continued to strongly urge their legislators to sponsor and pass Medicare for All legislation.
Volunteers with Healthy California Now urged Democratic legislators who previously supported single-payer legislation to co-sponsor Jayapal’s Medicare for All Act.

Just days before, on May 21, a sidewalk rally was organized by high school junior Elvia Mendez at the district offices of Congressman Tony Cardenas.
Community advocates from a wide range of organizations including National Nurses United, Health Care for All, Los Angeles for Bernie Sanders, and more, joined Mendez and her fellow students. Read more here.

Then, on May 29 and on June 1, Bay Area single payer supporters rallied at two back-to-back events featuring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, one at the Commonwealth Club and another at the California Democratic Party Convention.
Participants included Single Payer Now, Physicians for a National Health Program – California, San Francisco Berniecrats and San Francisco Democratic Socialists of America. Read more here and here.
