Funding cuts proposed by Governor Newsom’s new budget threaten to push more elderly and disabled Californians out of their homes and into nursing homes during the COVID-19 crisis. California’s In-Home Supportive Services program could be cut by as much as 7% to address the state’s pandemic-related budget deficit. Low-income, vulnerable Californians also face cuts to dental and vision care. —The HEAL Team
