At long last, our legislators are beginning to admit that millions of Americans are desperate for Medicare for All. With a House Rules Committee hearing behind us, and an upcoming hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee, there is hope that we can draw national attention to the unconscionable failings of corporate healthcare.
The heart-rending and compelling testimony given by attorney Ady Barkan and physician Farzan Nahvi, MD, dramatically highlighted the horrible challenges Americans face as they weigh their need for care against the costs.

But the deep-pocketed corporate healthcare industry and political naysayers are still putting their spin on the debate with a deluge of negative articles in the media about Medicare for All.
Sadly, many Americans don’t have the facts about how our current healthcare system is failing us or how Medicare for All could help.
That’s why we work to amplify the voices of authoritative and informed advocates for Medicare for All, like Bill Honigman, MD, retired ER doc and California Chapter coordinator for Progressive Democrats of America.
We helped place his excellent op-ed in the Orange County Register: Time to make health care a right with Medicare for All
In it, Dr. Bill describes the harsh realities of our current system while detailing the advantages of Medicare for All to a readership that lives in the “cradle of conservatism,” Orange County, California.
We need many more articles and op-eds like this around the state. Help us expand our media relations work.

First, contact and urge your federal representatives to co-sponsor the Medicare for All Act of 2019!
Then, sign the online Healthy California Now petition to Governor Gavin Newsom calling on him to introduce and pass a California Medicare for All bill!
