A good time was had by ALL at the colorful Pasadena Doo Dah Parade on Sunday, November 19, 2017 where supporters of SB 562, The Healthy California Act, marched in colorful and creative coalition!

The Healthy California Campaign coalition included four groups of participants, each representing different facets of the problem of corporate healthcare. (Analysis courtesy of Jenni Chang, Regional Coordinator, Healthy California Campaign):
a) The Billionaires for Wealthcare, a political guerrilla theater group, led the healthcare reform contingent representing the problem of GREED. Dressed in their finest, they are the winners in our current profit-driven system.
b) The scantily-clothed Patients, represented by members of Health Care for All – California, followed. Wearing patient gowns barely covering their asses (just like insurance policies), they represent the SUFFERING caused by corporate healthcare.
c) The American Revolutionaries, wearing tricorn hats, were next. Bold fighters for a more perfect union that includes guaranteed healthcare for all, they represent the SOLUTION to the greed and suffering.
d) The Animals. Dancing Animals, both predators and prey, were the last contingent, representing the RESULT of Medicare-for-ALL. “They dance so hard because, duh, truly universal healthcare is so awesome,” per Jenni Chang.
This year the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade celebrated 40 years of thumbing noses at conformity.
